Where ML and Marketing Meet, Final Thoughts and Conclusion
As the semester comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to consider the applications of AI and ML and their implication in the field of Marketing. There is no doubt AI has disrupted revolutionized the way we do and see marketing efforts today. From AI generated captions and graphics, to automated search words and keywords, the industry is not the same as it was just 5 years ago.
The rate of this revolution is tantalizing. At this point in AI's trajectory, there is no longer a question of "will it happen"? Now, the real puzzle is "when will it happen"? For us marketers, it's sink or swim. You must either adapt the new technologies or get left behind.
I am two classes away from graduating with a Master of Science in Business Analytics. My coursework and research in this field have allowed me to dip my toes into Machine Learning. I am by no means anything close to a computer scientist. However, the idea of learning more about AI and ML and maybe even bringing in my knowledge in marketing and business to develop new technologies excites me!
Dr. Kelsey has encouraged us to pursue a higher education degree in computer science and that may be in the cards for me in the future. In the meantime, I will continue to independently study about AI programming and practice my rudimentary coding skills.
