Setting Up A Google Ads Campaign
This week I created an ad for nuCaffeine through Google Ads. Follow along as I develop the ad.
Step 1: Getting started and linking accounts
The first step was creating an account with Google Ads. I created mine using the business, SBH Labs, and added all their information, such as website and contact number.
Step 2: Selecting a Landing Page for your Ad
The business website is sbhlabs.com. However, because I want to advertise nuCaffeine, I will make the landing page the product page for nuCaffeine.
Step 3: Select your Ad's Goal
Google Ads gives you four options to choose from. Because SBH Labs is trying to drive up sales, I chose "Get more website sales or sign-ups." None of the other options is a good fit for SBH Labs since they do not have a physical store, have a YouTube channel, or work by creating appointments.
Step 4: Creating the Copy, Selecting Keywords, and Setting Targets
I focused on the 3 key components of nuCaffeine we discovered last week. I used the headlines to call attention to these topics and expanded on nuCaffeine's unique selling proposition.
The next, and perhaps most important, part is choosing keywords. I selected a few keywords I think potential customers are likely to search when looking for an alternative to energy drinks. After a few days of running the ad, I will come back and see if any keywords need to be removed or added to the list.
Because this is an experiment, I decided to keep my budget to $5 per day. Google Ads shows you what your competitors are spending per day, so you can also look at that to see if you're spending too much or too little when you review your performance.
Step 6: Review and Publish!
Once you are finished setting up your Ad, go through it one more time. Make sure there are no errors and the link is working fine. Continue to set up payment and publish your ad.
And it's live!
We will come back in 10 days to see the performance of our ad for nuCaffeine.
